Creative Writing Climate Champions

Some of our KS3 and 4 students have been part of a creative writing group working with Read Now Write Now discussing climate change and the way this makes us feel.

Today, we finished our climate change pledge postcards by writing about the impact of deforestation on our world, the wildlife and their habitats and of course how this affects the global environment such as climate change.

A few examples of our writing were :

My name is Dalton , I am 13 years old . Nature is important. Trees have been around for millions of years and we need to stop the animals dying to protect the world.

and

My name is Hakeem and I am 14 at Newfield school. Stop cutting the trees and let the trees grow again. Trees are important Look after the trees.

and

My name is Zain. We have to stop cutting down trees. We can help by less cutting and let’s plant.

These will be published in a climate change anthology along with 100s of other school children’s work from all over the UK.

We can’t wait to see the final version and as you can see we were very pleased with our efforts!
